Finding happiness for a better living

Posted on August 17, 2017 by authorpradeeps

finding happiness for a better living

Finding happiness for a better living, sounds something difficult to achieve, does it? Well, life isn’t about sitting under a tree and waiting for a ripe fruit to fall on your lap. But finding happiness for a better living is not as complicated as many would think – it is much closer and easier to achieve. Happiness is within you, it is what you believe and it is what you do.

The problem is, for most people happiness is merely what gives them pleasure. Which may be the right way to measure happiness, if you want to lead a hedonistic lifestyle. But, happiness is much bigger than the feeling you have after a chuckle, or after receiving a message of your salary being credited into your account. This kind of happiness is volatile, it is like a drug or addiction. Such kind of happiness would certainly make you happy initially, but in the long run it will only break your heart and make you depressed. As for true happiness, it resides inside us and lasts forever.

Finding happiness for a better living

Below are a few tips that’ll help you identify happiness and how to get her to help you find it inside yourself.

Healthy relationships protect us

Being human beings, we live in a society and not in jungles or secluded places. So, being a human being and being a member of this human society, we need to interact with people. Whatever we do, we feel more motivated and happy when we receive support of people around us. The better you are with people, the more empathetic, secure and optimistic you will be, and this will reflect in your personality. In short, healthy relationships protect us.

Know your abilities

The most important point to remember in life is to know your abilities. It is easier said than done, but it is not impossible. We all have our strengths and weaknesses, and it does not take a genius to figure out one’s own strengths and weaknesses. The only thing one needs, is be true to oneself. Once you know your strengths and weaknesses, you will stop following the crowd and follow the path that is best suited for yourself. It may not be the most lucrative line of work, but it’ll keep you gainfully employed, and most importantly happy.

As Henry Van Dyke said,

“Use what talents you possess;

the woods would be very silent if no birds sang there except those that sang best.”

Enhance your skills

Once you know what you are good at, the only logical thing to do next is to enhance your skills. Study your subject well, and try creating an opinion about things. Try to standing out from others, while still being a part of the group, and make people around you see your authority. You will be more valued, and happier in the long run. A reflection that raises your self-esteem, will absolutely make you happier.

Work-life balance

Ask yourself why you are here, and what exactly you are doing? Try finding happiness in what you do. Love your job and respect your work, and take pleasure in the day-to-day activities of your occupation. But always remember, that work is just part of your life and that you have duties and responsibilities towards the society and your family. Find the right balance between work and life, and you’ll start enjoying whatever you do.

Remember your body

Not only in terms of exercise, but allow yourself to feel everything that surroundings you. Don’t let yourself be just someone lost in papers, computers and air conditioning. Let yourself feel the wind on your skin, the warmth of the sun, the touch of those you love. Think of your body as an antenna always ready to receive information.

Find nature

We all have a connection with nature. As if we were one, so just find those links and explore them. The result is a relaxed self, it’ll end your stress and help your body and mind work better.

The path to happiness may sound complicated, but it is always next to you. All you need to do is a little bit of introspection to find it and soon you will realise that, finding happiness for a better living is much easier than you thought.
